Electric SUV safety in India: airbags, ADAS and cameras

Safety equipment on electric SUVs is concentrated on the top variants, often the ones with the larger battery. A car can be the safest in its class on paper while its entry trim misses the airbags or driver-assistance features buyers expect.

These guides list every electric SUV with each safety feature, the cheapest variant that has it, and what the system actually does on Indian roads, including how adaptive cruise and lane-keeping affect range on a highway run.

The guides

The Tata Harrier EV and Mahindra XEV 9e are the safest electric SUVs in India, both scoring a perfect 32 of 32 for adult protection and 45 of 49 for children at Bharat NCAP.
