Best Electric SUVs With 6 Airbags Under Rs 25 Lakh in India (2026)
Under a price ceiling what matters is the variant your money reaches, not the model. The Mahindra BE 6 is the only SUV here where both Level 2 assistance and a seventh airbag are reachable below Rs 25 lakh. The Tata Harrier EV and VinFast VF7 both put their assistance suites above the ceiling, so under it you are buying airbags and stability hardware. And the cheapest car here, the Tata Punch EV at Rs 9.79 lakh, scores 45 of 49 for child protection, better than several SUVs costing twice as much.
Eight electric SUVs offer six airbags or more with variants priced under Rs 25 lakh, and every one of them holds a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating. The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara and VinFast VF7 fit seven airbags to every variant, the Tata Harrier EV and Mahindra XEV 9e share the best crash score at a perfect 32 out of 32, and the Tata Punch EV is the cheapest at Rs 9.79 lakh.
Under a price ceiling the interesting question is not which model qualifies but which variant your money reaches, because that decides the airbag count and whether you get driver assistance at all. On this list the Harrier EV and VF7 both drop their assistance suites above Rs 25 lakh, while the Mahindra pair keep theirs below it.

The eight in detail
Equipment described is for the highest variant priced under Rs 25 lakh, which is not always the model's top trim.
1. Maruti Suzuki e Vitara
Seven airbags including a driver knee airbag on every variant, and the whole range sits under the ceiling, so nothing here is a compromise version of the car. Its 5-star rating of 31.49 and 43 covers the 49 kWh Delta and the 61 kWh Zeta and Alpha alike.
Standard throughout: stability control with hill hold, ABS with EBD and brake assist, disc brakes at all four wheels, tyre pressure monitoring, multi-collision braking, an SOS call button, an electronic parking brake with brake hold and ISOFIX. Level 2 assistance and the 360-degree camera are on the Alpha at Rs 19.99 lakh, which is still Rs 5 lakh inside the ceiling.
The 61 kWh car claims 543 km and the 49 kWh Delta 440 km, with a 10 to 80 percent DC charge in about 45 minutes on a 70 kW or faster charger and an 8-year or 160,000 km battery warranty.
2. Tata Harrier EV
The joint-best crash score on this list, 32 out of 32 and 45 out of 49. Six airbags are standard and the seventh knee airbag arrives on the Fearless+ 65 at Rs 24.29 lakh, which is the highest variant under the ceiling.
The catch is driver assistance: the Level 2 suite needs the Empowered 75, which sits above Rs 25 lakh. Below the ceiling you get a 360-degree camera, parking sensors front and rear, stability control with after-impact braking, tyre pressure monitoring and disc brakes all round, but no adaptive cruise or lane keeping.
The 65 kWh pack claims 538 km, with 120 kW DC charging taking 20 to 80 percent in about 25 minutes.
3. Mahindra XEV 9e
The same perfect crash score, and unlike the Harrier EV it brings Level 2 assistance inside the budget, on the Pack Two at Rs 24.90 lakh. That covers adaptive cruise control with Smart Pilot Assist, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist and high beam assist on one radar and one camera.
Six airbags on both variants under the ceiling; the seventh is a Pack Three Select item above it. Driver drowsiness detection, parking sensors, a reverse camera, an electronic parking brake and tyre pressure monitoring are included. The 59 kWh pack claims 542 km, with a 20 to 80 percent charge in about 20 minutes.
4. Mahindra BE 6
The best value on this list for getting everything under the ceiling. Level 2 assistance starts at the Pack Two from Rs 21.90 lakh, and the seventh airbag arrives on the Pack Three Select at Rs 24.50 lakh, so both are reachable below Rs 25 lakh, which is true of no other SUV here.
Its 5-star rating is 31.97 out of 32 and 45 out of 49, and Bharat NCAP's applicability list covers all four variants from One B59 to Three B79. Kit includes a 360-degree camera with blind view monitor, drowsiness detection, traffic sign recognition, an electronic parking brake, tyre pressure monitoring and disc brakes all round. The 59 kWh pack claims 556 km and the 79 kWh 683 km.
5. Tata Punch EV
The cheapest 5-star electric SUV on sale at Rs 9.79 lakh, with six airbags on every variant and a 45 out of 49 child score that matches SUVs at three times the price. Stability control, ABS with EBD, hill hold, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, tyre pressure monitoring, ISOFIX and SOS calling throughout, with a 360-degree camera and blind view monitor on the Empowered trims.
No driver assistance at any price. The 40 kWh car claims 468 km, with 65 kW DC charging covering 20 to 80 percent in about 26 minutes.
6. Tata Curvv EV
The longest standard safety list under Rs 20 lakh. Every variant gets a 360-degree camera with blind view monitor, a driver doze-off alert, stability control, tyre pressure monitoring, ABS with EBD and an electronic parking brake with auto hold, on top of six airbags.
The Empowered X trims add adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, adaptive steering assist, blind spot detection, rear cross traffic alert, high beam assist and traffic sign recognition. The 55 kWh pack claims 502 km.
7. Tata Nexon EV
Six airbags across the range and the rating covers both the Long Range and Medium Range families. Level 2 assistance is confined to the Empowered+ A 45 at Rs 17.69 lakh, which is comfortably under the ceiling and the cheapest route to it on this list.
The 45 kWh car claims 489 km with 60 kW DC charging taking 10 to 80 percent in about 40 minutes, and carries a lifetime high-voltage battery warranty for the first private owner.
8. VinFast VF7
Seven airbags on every variant, including the Earth at Rs 22.99 lakh which is the only one under the ceiling. Stability control with traction control and roll-over mitigation, hill start assist, an emergency stop signal, direct tyre pressure monitoring, an electronic parking brake with auto hold and disc brakes all round.
Driver assistance starts on the Wind at Rs 25.89 lakh, above the ceiling, so the under-25 car is airbags and stability hardware rather than active assistance. It does hold the best child protection score here at 45.25 out of 49. The 59.6 kWh pack claims 438 km.
Reading the ceiling properly
Three patterns are worth taking away.
Airbag count and assistance do not arrive together. On the Harrier EV the seventh airbag comes before any assistance, and neither reaches the top of the budget at the same time. On the XEV 9e assistance arrives first and the seventh airbag never does, below Rs 25 lakh.
Only the BE 6 gives you both. Pack Two brings Level 2 from Rs 21.90 lakh and Pack Three Select brings the seventh airbag at Rs 24.50 lakh, both inside the ceiling.
The cheapest cars here are not the weakest on crash protection. The Punch EV at Rs 9.79 lakh scores 45 out of 49 for children, better than the e Vitara's 43 and the VF7's rating for adults. What the money buys further up is assistance and equipment, not fundamentally better crash protection.
